Pick the low hanging fruit
I watched a clip with Ed Begley Jr. the CBS Sunday Morning show. He’s been a long time environmentally aware person.
His house is modest and solar powered. He dug up his lawn and replaced it with edibles. (He also has a TV show, book and non-toxic cleaning product line.)
The reporter asked Ed: What can the average person do to reduce their environmental impact. Ed’s reply was that living reducing one’s carbon footprint was not extremely difficult. He lives a modern life. His advice was to go for the low hanging fruit.
What small and easy changes can you make to reduce your footprint.
If growing all your produce is out of reach, how about a fruit tree and perhaps growing lettuce in a small container. Maybe a few herbs.
What stops people from embracing veggie gardening…
Is it time?, work?, know-how?, or a resistance to change?
